ABSTRACT

Introduction

Peritoneal adhesions, the fibrotic bands that form between the surfaces in the peritoneal cavity following surgery, still pose a difficult clinical challenge.

Aim

To evaluate the SprayShield™ Adhesion Barrier System (PEG ester amine solution and a buffer solution) in reducing post-operative adhesion formation.

Material and methods

This was a prospective, multi-center, randomized, single blind study. A total of 11 subjects diagnosed with ulcerative colitis (UC) or familial adenomatous polyposis (FAP) were randomized: 8 to the SprayShield™ arm and 3 to the control arm. SprayShield™ was applied on the viscera directly under the midline peritoneal incision and at the site of ileostomy. During the follow-up surgery, the incidence, extent, and severity of post-operative adhesion formation were evaluated, as well as the time required to mobilize the ileal loop.

Results

In patients who received SprayShield™ the time required to mobilize the ileal loop at the ileostomy closure was slightly shorter and the incidence and severity of adhesions were somewhat lower vs. control subjects (NS).

Conclusions

SprayShield™ was found to be easy to use, safe, and quick to apply, and performed well in adherence and conformity. The incidence and severity of adhesions were lower for SprayShield™ subjects vs. control subjects, but due to the limited number of patients there are not enough data to confirm the effectiveness of the SprayShield™ Adhesion Barrier System in prevention of adhesions.

MADISON, Wis., March 6 -- The WisconsinAttorney General issued the following news release:

Attorney General J.B. Van Hollen announced today that Wisconsin has joined with other states and the federal government to settle allegations thatGenzyme Corp. (Genzyme) marketed and caused false claims to be submitted to federal and state health care programs for use of a "slurry" version of its Seprafilm adhesion barrier. Seprafilm is a thin film intended to reduce adhesions after surgery by forming a bio-resorbable barrier between abdominal tissue and organs. Genzyme is a biotechnology corporation based in Cambridge, Mass., and was acquired by Sanofi-Aventis SA in April 2011. As part of the settlement, Wisconsin Medicaid will receive $44,698.27 in restitution and other recoveries. Medicaid is a health insurance program for the needy and disabled jointly funded by the state and federal governments. The agreement resolves allegations that Genzyme sales representatives taught doctors and other staff to cut the Seprafilm sheets into small pieces, add saline and allow the pieces to dissolve until the desired consistency was reached. This mixture was referred to as "slurry." Genzyme sales representatives traded recipes for slurry, and trained each other in how to create it. The slurry was used in laparoscopic surgeries by inserting a catheter filled with the mixture into the body and applying it into the abdominal cavity. Seprafilm isFDA-approved for use in open abdominal surgery but not for minimally invasive surgeries, such as laparoscopic surgery. Allegedly, as a result of this conduct,Genzyme knowingly caused hospitals and other purchasers of Seprafilm to submit false and fraudulent claims to health care programs for uses that were not reimbursable.

Abdominal wall lift decreases cardiopulmonary changes, does not influence the morbidity and, increases operating time in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. It cannot be recommended routinely
.Gurusamy KS, Samraj K, Davidson BR.Published Online: July 16, 2008.Several physiological parameters related to heart and lung (cardiopulmonary changes) occur during insufflation of abdomen (tummy) with key-hole surgery. While these changes can be tolerated by normal individuals, patients with poor heart or lung function may not tolerate the changes. These changes in physiological parameters related to heart and lung are decreased by using special instruments to lift the front wall of the abdomen so that key-hole surgery can be performed without gas insufflation. In this systematic review of 20 trials including 706 patients (six trials including 156 patients used gas at very low pressures), it is shown that the technique of lifting the front wall of the tummy is associated with increased operating time (8 minutes) without reducing surgical complications. It cannot be recommended as a routine in patients with mild or no systemic disease. So, it cannot be recommended routinely in patients with low anaesthetic risk.

Background: The incidence of the retention of a foreign body in abdominal operations varied from 1 in 1000 to 1 in 1500 procedures. Reasons for retained instruments after surgical interventions remain unclear. One well designed and controlled study claimed forgetting instruments and sponges were more common in emergency operations, unplanned changes in the course of the procedures and high BMI. There are few if any reports regarding these errors in laparoscopic surgery.


Case report: A 27 year-old woman was referred to our department with intolerance to Gore-Tex nonadjustable gastric band implanted laparoscopically for morbid obesity (BMI 43) nine months ago. Laparoscopic debanding was performed successfully. On the next day, swallow study detected a large metal foreign body in the right subphrenic area. It was looking as a part of Abdo-Lift (Karl Storz), a tool obviously using during laparoscopic gastric banding performing in the other hospital. CT scan depicted the foreign body laying free in the abdominal cavity. This 15cm long part of broken appliance was removed laparoscopically. Presented Video shows the details of this unique case.

Conclusion: Laparoscopic instruments might be left behind during procedures in spite of small incisions using in laparoscopy. It is necessary to count and check instruments in laparoscopic procedures as in open surgery.

Kruschinski saw what Spraygel did and did nothing but ask you for more money for more surgery

Another Endogyn blast from the past. Undated info includes Sally and Lisa still by his side. I had a reaction to spraygel too...but no one seemed to care at that point. Sally's appendix is supposed to have bust on the plane back from Germany. This we believe as others had mysterious organ removals right after their surgeries at Endogyn. Perhaps it was the 7 kits of spraygel he used. The label say use 2 kits.

I feel he has seen and happily re operated on those who had complications from spray gel. After receiving complaints from Dr. Hanifa Koya, as she noticed an alarming rate of re operations and unusual scarring after using spraygel...the manufacturer quielty and with no stated reason, reformulated Spraygel into SprayShield.

....and Kruschinski saw, All those operations and then the re operations. One young man had 7 operations with Kruschinski till all his families money was gone and then he took his life as he still writhed in agony from all the unsuccessful surgeries.

IHRT often asks why are men going to a gynecologist anyways???

The" Two Faces" of Sally Grigg exposed!


Ladies at Endogyn: DO NOT read this post as there exists a possibility that you will not be “Happy Apples!”

IHRT has included additional material showing what appear to be some very dysfunctional people posting in Endogyn. Be warry of anything that is posted in Endogyn, as it is filled with emotion, dysfunction, miss-representations, and at times, actual lies, and it appears that these ladies do it to seek the attention and favor of "Kru!"

IHRT has said it before, and we will say it again, " Kru" is like a dirty uncle playing in a sandbox with little children so he can prey on their vulnerabilities to stroke his ego and sick needs of approval. A preditor in thier midst and that appears most evident when you read the behaviors of the "usuals" who post there! How could anyone take the words of people who display such dysfunctional behaviors and schedule a surgery with this "cheesy" "Kru" after listeneing to them "goo and coo over" him? That behavior alone is sic! (Note that even his patient have no respect for this man as a proffesional, calling him, "Kru!" Is this the type of person YOU would want performing surgery on you? YUCK!

Sally Grigg...So many miss-representations surrounding Sally’s surgeries in Endogyn, and what appear to be outright lies regarding Sally’s "reaction to the Spraygel,: and some type of "medication” to help get the Spraygel “out of her system!” Everything surrounding Sally appears to be in "crisis" mode! LOL. It appears that Sally wants to be the center of attention, even if it means she make things up so she “stands out of the crowd,” such as Sally appears to be doing here in these emails and posts. To say that “Kru” has almost 100% success,” is without ANY basis, yet Sally uses that to harvest innocent ARD patients to “Kru,” when she herself was still not well, and Sally has no intentions of telling people about it either! The whole thing was bogus and simply attention getting as NON of it had any basis to it at all!! Sally says in private, “So I guess I'm supposed to be quiet and be a good girl, until they decide what my body did.” Sally says in public, “If anyone wants to know anything about surgery with Dr. Kruschinski and his great skill, gasless methods, and spray gel, just email me at LostCst@mcn.org I'm happy to share any info I've got.”

Can YOU answer the Mystery?

Who lied when stating there were “DR’S involved in this case,” or “ that Sally’s body was HOLDING the Spraygel,” and that “Kru gave her medication to help RID her body of it.”

Possible answers: “Kru, in the operating with a scalpel,” or “Sally, on the ranch with pitch fork,” or “Jo, down under, spewing her words like a gossip standing at a fence!”

Hello everyone! I had a lovely surprise this morning - a phone call from our Californian friend Sally! Home from Germany just two days ago after her third major surgey in just a few short months.The only draw back to this surgery to remove adhesions after her burst appendix last year was a reaction to the SprayGel! Sally is the only person we know of who has had a reaction and it surprised everyone. Doctors believe Sally's body has possibly built up an immunity to the Gel and it didn't dissolve as it is designed to do and be dispelled from her body via her bladder.Sally is now taking medication to try and break down the gel so that it can be absorbed and then expelled from her body. She says that she feels a little strange but the second look surgery showed that no new adhesions have formed after the procedure! Let's hope and pray that Sally can get the SprayGel out of her system and doctors and the makers of SprayGel can work out why she had this unheard of reaction. Hello, sweet friends, I'm home from Germany. Stronger this time. I was filled with adhesions from my appendectomy but they were soft. It still took six hours of great surgery and 7 kits of spray gel. I did have an inflamatory reaction to the spray gel this time. I'm probably the only person who has had it twice in a few months, but overall I'm well and happy. It's always hard to travel so far, but dear friends, we finally do have a cure, another miracle. Hopefuly no more operations for me. Karen Steward is attempting to use her " smoke screen" method of taking the focus off the Sally Grigg material by throwing out "Law Suit!" No one can or will sue anyone else over posting on the Internet, and any attorney who will not take $5,000.00 to start a case, is extinct! Look at you women, all of you women who gush over this cheesy charactor, that is just sic behavior and you claim others are guilty of it, but not yourself, what is all of this in YOUR post if it isn't obsessive behavior. Lisa? Your obsession with "Kru" still exists years later, and isn't geared at helping people, just tooting the horn of someone who abused you! Also notice that this "love" accusation is thrown around quite a bit, making IHRT wonder just what kind of women can fall in love with the “cheesy” looking “Kru!” (Another Mystery!)

The fact of the matter is that IHRT will continue to point out the issues that only serve to harm ARD patients seeking information about Endogyn, as what is found in Endogyn, is worthless, miss-leading information regarding an under qualified surgeon who lacks the skills to perform a high quality adhesiolysis, as IHRT sees it, and IHRT will watch closely to see when. more probable, IF "Kru" follows up on his claims of performing adhesiolysis in the Caymans, and having "guest" surgeons to Endogyn! Claims by "Kru" are always left dangling!

IHRT predicts that these claims will never be realized by "Kru," let alone his patients! Mark our words, or, perhaps, "sue us!"

Totally regretable choice and was worse for the trip.

I fouind out later she was not well when she was trying to "get me there"

I wonder if I was the partial payment for her trip back and she's still not well, Daniel told her then something about her having PID which cause the problems back, several others got the pid excuse too. It's generally sexually transmited or from surgical infection.

He said I had a reaction to spraygel which was not true. He said I had a post surgical drain and that was not true. He said I was adhesion free and that was SO not true because I had to have surgery here a few months later and I had tons old calcified adhesions! Uh maybe he needs better glasses...nowait a better visual field so he could see em but the abdolift tents the abdomen and he cant see like an inflated abdomen like in a regular laproscopy....so you might be adhesion free but only where he can see........so you go all that way for nothing!

Well you're right in saying "this great doctor"!!!!! And you're right in saying he is "over the ocean". There is no sense though in wondering why SprayGel isn't in Canada or anywhere else you may want it to be-- you will only be expending a lot of wasted energy on something you don't have. Also, you need more than SprayGel. As I said before, you can throw a brush in anyone's hand, but that doesn't mean they can paint! It is time for you to think out of the box. I had to and so have the others that have gone to Germany. Just about everyone has the money problem. You have to find a way to overcome that. When I heard about Germany, the seed was planted in my mind. It took me several weeks to adjust to the idea of going that far for Melissa's surgery....it took Melissa even longer.....the girl HATES flying! Melissa had had surgery in California (we flew there) last September She had 2 good months, then became worse than before. She had had surgery in January prior to that! Yes, our insurance covered most of those surgeries-- big deal, she was still sick! What good is getting your surgery paid for if you do not benefit from it? When I began reading the results coming from the women that had been to Dr. Kruschinski, I had to stand up and take notice! At that point I didn't care if we had SprayGel coming the next week to the USA, I didn't care if Dr. Kruschinski was on the moon, I was ready to get her to the PERSON that was making people well! My husband agreed and we began getting the funds together. I forgot all about the flight, the country, the money---and everyone around here went to work to make the plan come to pass! If someone has water and you have none, you will be headed to their territory to beg a drink. Dr. Kruschinski holds the answer for many people that are at home suffering day in and day out. Like it or not, he doesn't sit next door to you, nor does the SprayGel, etc. You have to make a plan--then make it come to pass! Karen

You Know what Karen has said...but what really happened?

Dear All It seems that my requests to behave nicely on this board have gone unheeded. As soon as I am technically able I will be removing all the offending posts. For fear of repetition:
1. DO NOT make accusations about anyone that you cannot support in a court of law
2. Even if you think you can make such accusations, this is not the place to do it. If you have a gripe against someone - approach them respectfully and directly. Do not use this board as a battle ground. If you think you have a valid criticism about anyone, document it carefully. Summarise the points you want to make (in one or two short sentences) and then back it up with complete documentation. Do not use inuendo. It does not stand up in a court of law. It will not stand up here. Review your case and ask yourself if you are really being to harsh on the person. Do you really have evidence to support your point? Give them the benefit of the doubt.
3. DO NOT escalate tensions by responding on this message baord. Contrary to popular beleif - I do not spend 24 hours a day checking my email and message board postings. If you see something that looks odd - please tell either myself or Tracy Joslin (tracy.joslin@adhesions.org) by email and phone. I cannot guarnatee to remove posts immediately, but we will try.
4. Avoid the temptation to conduct your war even in email. What you say will end up on a message baord somewhere, no doubt out of context.
5. We ARE NOT AGAINST DR. Kruschinski. Please stop all allegations to the contrary. My post of a few weeks ago was fully endorsed by him. He has told me that some people misinterpreted that post. Again - HE FULLY ENDORSED THAT POST. We totally resent any accusation that the IAS has been behind any some smear camapaign. It is not true.
6. We encourage Dr. K (and any other doctor doing this kind of work) to collect his data and to present them to the medical community. Both Dr. K and I fully expect that given the severity of the ARD disease, there will be patients in whom pain or other symptoms will recur after his, or anyone else's surgery.
7. A message board is not the place to conduct serious medical research. A patient's perception about their problems is easily influenced by their expectations and their impressions. By continuing to post glowing reviews about Dr. K, or anyone use YOU ARE HARMING HIS CREDIBILITY. Let me spell this out. By inflating someone's expectations about their surgery with any doctor, you are going to make them more dissapointed if even the slightest thing goes wrong. Similarly, any posting of a problem may prompt a patient to believe that their minor problem may be similar. Consequently talk of "complications" can be blown out of proportion. Nonetheless - he has a section in his message board where he invites people to discuss their problems after surgery. The section is called: "Continuing pain after surgery Here you are welcome to discuss your problems after having surgery ... "
I do not think this is a terribly good idea to have such a section, but if you are compelled to discuss problems that is the place to do it.

I have discussed this frequently with Dr. K and have stressed that we want him to collect sound and credible data. Please help him to do this by respecting the rules of this board.

8. Dr. K has shared with us (as well as posted on his own board)some preliminary results of his data. I STRESS preliminary becuase they are legitimately open to some interpretation IN EITHER DIRECTION.

It seems that there have been some 33 US patients that have seen Dr. K in the last 11 months or so. Some of them must be excluded from the analysis for good reasons (eg patients have gallbladder or appendix operations etc) , leaving 27 patients for analysis. Of these 6 of them have reported some recurrence of pain or adhesions, which is 21%. THIS IS A VERY GOOD RESULT, but nonetheless a preliminary one. We will be happy to revise this estimate when there is full documentation from Dr. K. This compares very well with another study (that we will report to you shortly) in which a US doctor performed similar procedures (using Seprafilm and conventional laparoscopy) in 19 apparently similar patients with a 24% rate of return of symptoms.The follow up there was 1-32 months. The jury is not yet in however becuase we need to see longer follow up for both studies, as well as data from Dr. K's European patients. We encourage him to collect these data. Please help him maintain its credibility by refraining from comment in either direction.

9. Please note that both Beverly Doucette and Dawn Rose have resigned from the IAS, at their request. As soon as we are we will remove their names from the list of support contacts.

I am a former pt. of Dr. Kruschinski, who does gasless abdolift surgery at Endogyn in Germany. My pain is much worse than before I went there. I noticed on the Endogyn Message Board that the "Pt Stories" are not updated. Some of them are dated 2003, 2004, 2005, and say that the person is doing great. However, there is mention of some of these people going back for repeat procedures, but this information is not put on the "Pt Stories". I think it should be.

Recently Linda from UK had surgery. Dr. Kruschinski wrote that on the second look, Linda was adhesion-free. They someone else said something like , "Another pt. made pain-free ".
I think that being adhesion-free on the day of the second look is great news, but that it is too soon to conclude that the person is pain-free and will remain pain free. Dr. K. himself states that a person must wait 12 weeks to know if they are pain-free, and to see if a third look is indicated.

I am looking for information from pts. who have remained improved after 1-2 years after the first trip to Germany, and persons who secured sustained improvements from a second trip to Germany that was at least one year ago.

Endogyn Message Board posted about this IHRT message board, and it is really interesting! I read your post with great interest. I went to Germany more than once and am worse than before. I am going to make a complaint against endogyn and hope to get my money back.

I also went to Germany more than once. I got an infection there, don't know why. But I did not like it that Dr. Kruschinski did not wear gloves in his clinic. I also developed a hernia near my belly button, where the abdolift machine went in. A docter in US told me that the hernia could be caused by the abdolift.I am still in a lot of pain.

I went to Germany only once, but I did not have relief of pain, and I think my adhesions came back, it feels like there are more than before.I was saving up to go back there for a third look, but aFter reading a lot of IHRT, I am thinking maybe it is a bad idea to go back there. Dr.Kruschinski did not wear gloves in his clinic. Isn't that against the law?

I am very happy that others are now sharing that they are not well from a surgery at Endogyn, because I am not well either. Dr. kru told me it was from something else and not my surgery with him, but I do not believe him, I did nothing else and now after he told me I was adhesion free in my second look, I am wondering if I really was. I see dawn Rose thoughtnshe was free of adhesions too, and she wasn't and Dr. kru lied to her to.

Could Karen be hiding something from us, gossip is gossip, but it usually has a bit of truth to it, so I ask karen again, how is melissa today?
Karen is so nasty on Endogyn saying she will send a post to mellisa, is mellisa like her mother, hurtful and angry? I hope not. I hope she will be honest and tell the truth. Why does her mother post there anyway, and hurting sick people all the time there.

I had three surgeries in Germany with Dr. K. The first was the lysis of adhesions and then the second look. The pain came back hard and fast even though I was supposed to be adhesion free. The third look cost me plenty even though its supposed to be "free". I had a new adhesion from umbilical area to bowel. He lysed that one out, but I now feel that I have more. I am no better today than I was in late summer 2004, which was when I went. The 2nd mortgage we took out on our house to pay for all this Germany stuff has come close to causing a divorce between my husband and I, as has the fact that I am still hurting and my husband expected a miracle because that is what was promised. There was a new girl from the U.S.(OK) there when I went in for the third look. As soon as Dr. K saw me in the waiting room he spirited me away from her and I did not see see her again my whole stay, even though I speak a little German and could have helped her and her mother. I now am to understand that she has to go back for more surgery. Needless to say I am disappointed and feel taken advantage of.

Kruschinski attack!

If you are not well after a surgery with Kruschinski, of Endogyn fame....first he will try to get recent post surgical patients to attack you...then with a drink or two under his belt he will come gunning for you himself.

No one is getting sicker, all my patients for and are getting better after surgery, this is evidently a fact, as this is why so many come here for surgery. You are the only one of the few gotten worse (which I don't believe). But I think, you need to make your drug level intake responsible for that

Fact or Fiction?DNA connects a mad scientist of today to one from the past!

In the movies, scientists are quite often "mad," and have been so since the silent movies.

The things they do, however, have been fairly consistent. They tend to be smarter than the “normal” human being, and wittier, often of a boastful nature. A surprising number can play Bach's Toccata and Fugue from memory. They will persevere despite repeated failures. These are usually on human subjects whose remnants, living or dead, are stored in commodious basements. Often unreliable technical equipment, anatomical parts and/or lab assistants plague these scientists.

What is it that we love about the mad scientists in our movies and history? Is it because their probing of the unknown piques our curiosity? Is it their seeming superiority to the common herd? Or is it that they -- at least for a while -- get away with more than we can?

They do so in many realms of knowledge. Some of them are practical, and quest for better things for the human race. Others are decidedly less practical. One of their most prominent technologies has been advanced medicine. Filmic mad scientists of the 1930s and 1940s led the vanguard in such efforts as keeping organs alive outside the body, cryogenics, new methods of surgery, robotic parts for humans, and new serums. Others harnessed electricity for all sorts of uses, but mostly to bring dead flesh back to life (always a useful ability), or to power advanced robots and death rays. It is the potential for cutting-edge science that makes fictions about the subject relevant.

These “mad scientists” are enthusiastic about their work, perhaps even carried away with it. They will let no one get in their way, especially those who call them insane, and start -- but do not finish -- going for the authorities. Generally their creations, be they mechanical or living, go out of control. Until the climax, that is, when they turn on their creator(s) and soon destroys them. This is usually due to “fate” or "God," which restores the status quo against the blaspheming mad scientist. And it is this last motif that connects the various aspects of the subject together: the "god-like" man who rejects the accepted ways and pursues the unknown, running into trouble as a result.

Few really believe in vampires, monsters and witches, but these enduring characters of Halloween have a basis in real life that is often more interesting than the fantasy.
Think of Halloween and your mind conjures images of ghosts, vampires, witches and monsters.

Our modern versions of them have largely been crafted by popular literature and, more influentially, the movies. But like many fantastic characters of myth and lore, they have a basis in reality.

Sometimes the true stories of these creatures that haunt our imaginations are just as weird and amazing as their fictional incarnations.

Castle Frankenstein –Darmstadt Bavaria Germany

The castle is perched atop a bluff of rock, a Gothic array of towers and pinnacles looming over the Rhine valley and once home to a troop of medieval knights. The hilly Oldenwald, which lies to the south of Darmstadt, is an area of little villages, rustic farms and Gothic churches.
The hilltops are crowned with thick forest while the valleys are framed with flower-studded meadows. The drive to Castle Frankenstein from Darmstadt station, takes 20 minutes.
First, you will cross the pancake-flat Rhine valley with its patchwork of asparagus and potato fields, then the road suddenly swings upwards and you are hurtle around a series of tight, vertiginous bends towards your destination. A 'Welcome to Castle Frankenstein,' sign greets you when your stomach-churning drive finally ends. The year, 2004!
You feel anxious as you near the huge doors that will take you into unknown areas of the castle, and as you enter, you see the first of two medieval towers built in the 16th century by Sir George Frankenstein. The towers are dimly lit by the fires of torches placed high in sconces set deep into the stone walls, walls that seem to reach forever skyward. As you continue to walk down the dusky, damp halls through the towers you realize that the foreboding halls of this impregnable fortress guarding the Rhine are consuming you and you start to think that you might never see the outside world again. Your fear heightens your every sense as you search shadowy crevices and gaze into the darkness with more anxiety then eager curiosity.
You smell terrible smells, hear terrible sounds, everything is so confusing, moving to fast to be real, your feeling weak, scared, and with each step you seem to be taken back in time; then you see it, a door, and it is opening, someone is coming toward you, it’s a man, a, a Dr. and he is dressed in period clothing from the 18th century!
This can’t be! All of a sudden your mind is filled with the thoughts of the experiments of the mad scientist, Italian physician Luigi Aldini, who in 1760 had injected a current of electricity into the head of a newly executed murderer, causing an array of horrible spasms, one of which opened the corpse's left eye! As this oddly dressed Dr. comes toward you, he is smiling as though you were a long lost relative. You do not recognize him, yet there IS something familiar about that smile, but what is? Your heart is racing with fear, your head swims and then…..your world goes black!

You wake in a sweat to find yourself strapped on a cold hard table in one of the castle's inner chambers, the same room in which a boy was born of refugee parents from Poland in 1673. In later life that boy turned man, would sign himself von Frankenstein in recognition of his birthplace. But he was never a nobleman, nor a blood relation of the Frankenstein family.
The dates, the years, the similarities of then and now are all merged into one blur in your mind as you are wheeled into a modern operating room in a foreign country.
Eyes that look like yours are everywhere, eyes behind masks, eyes everywhere looking at you, then voices, lots of words but in a language you don’t understand. The Frankenstein Monster
Our story starts out with the birth of an 18th century mad scientist who was born in 1673 in Germany at - believe it or not - Castle Frankenstein! Johann Konrad Dippel (1673-1734) was born to immigrants to Germany, and has no “blood” relationship to the Frankenstein’s of Noble German decent!
Dipple, a man of great pride, felt no limitations to his intellect and was interested in pursuing the great mysteries of life. When he registered at the University of Giessen (sixty miles north of the real Castle Frankenstein near Darmstadt, Germany), he registered as "Franckensteina." Some three years later he completed his dissertation. As it was a skeptical work -- whose title De Nihilo meant "On Nothing" -- it outraged many of his superiors. Dipple flaunted that he was smarter than the “normal” human being, and wittier, and was often of a boastful nature, and with an attitude that gave one the impression he could care less what others thought of him!
Educated as a physician, Dippel set up a laboratory at Castle Frankenstein where he would be free to conduct his bizarre experiments. There's no record of whether or not he had a hunchbacked assistant named Igor, but Dippel (who often went by the name Konrad Frankensteina) spent a lot of his time with his hobby of alchemy - a popular pursuit of the day. Alchemy(1) is a kind pseudoscientific experimentation with the elements - crazy chemistry - whose ultimate challenge was to be able to turn lead into gold. Dippel was also fascinated by the possibility of immortality through scientific means.
Though a brilliant scientist, Dipple got caught up in the dark world of alchemy and body snatching. He really did use the parts of butchered animals and exhumed human corpses in his vain attempt to "engender life in the dead," in his own words. He claimed to have the secret of the “philosopher's stone,”(2) as well as the ability to create life.
Unlike his literary and cinematic "decedents," Dippel did not rig up the body parts to elaborate lightning-powered gizmos and spark generators. Rather he boiled everything - skin, muscle, bone, blood, hair and organs - in large vats. When the surrounding community got wind of what Dippel was up to, maybe they didn't storm his castle with torches, shovels and rakes, but they did kick him out of town.
Dipple returned to Guessen hoping for a fellowship there, but meeting with a cold reception there, he went to Wittenberg, where his fortunes proved no better. At Strasburg, his views made it impossible for him to establish any connection with that university, but he did do some lecturing on astronomy and palmistry, preaching frequently in a spirit that soon led him to be dismissed. Dipple had developed a lifestyle
That ultimately forced him back to his native place, a fugative from his collectors!
Finding a new faith, Dipple entered into it with a fierce pace that led him to fame. In less then two years he 14 controversial writings on the theme of morals verses dogma, among other subjects, and like everything else he ever did, he went to extremes, which subjected him to persecution from the clergy and even from the mob, by whom his life was threatened.
By 1704 Dipple had moved to Berlin and devoted his researches to alchemy and deluded at one time that he had solved the problem of transmutation! He was driven out of Berlin and fled to Kostrits, thence moved on to Holland, where he lived for some time near Amsterdam. In 1711 he practiced medicine in Leyden, and wrote a number of papers on theology and in 1714 had his papers published. In this same year he relocated to Altona, in Sleswick-Holstein where an imprudent incursion into politics aroused the hatred of high officials, and in 1719 he was condemned to perpetual imprisonment. Though the full sentence was never carried out, Dipple did live for 7 years in semi-confinement on the island of Bornholm. Released in 1726, he went to Sweden where he became the physician to King Frederick I. Once again he aroused the clergy there and was banished from the country.
Returning to Germany, he took up residence in Liebenberg, near Goslar, and
Continued his studies in alchemy. Though he abstained entirely from theological controversy, the clergy compelled him to flee, and he found refuge with the Count of Wittgenstein-Berleburg. His last years were largely taken up by violent controversy with Zinzendorf over the nature of the Atomement.
Once again, fleeing persecution, Dipple returned to “Frankenstein Castle” in Bavaria, Germany where rumors circulated that he was again collecting body parts to assist in the making of a formula that Dipple claimed would allow him to live to the age of 135. On the morning of April 24th, 1734, Dipple’s body was found in his laboratory by one of his friends. It is believed that he died by drinking his own potion.

After a tumultuous and lonely life, Johann Konrad Dippel became another legend in the history of Frankenstein, though he would never be recognized for his scientific abilities, instead he became known as "Dipple the Alchemist".


They say that all the spirits of those who were experimented on during Dipple’s time haunt the “Frankenstein Castle” yet today, but the haunting does not stop there. A “ NEW” kind of “haunting” out of the “Frankenstein Castle” reveled itself over 233 years later in the birth of another boy born to parents of Polish decent! A direct descendent of the late Johann Konrad Dippel, this boys life will bear an astonishing similarities to that of his infamous relative!!

Madness At The Edge Of Science
Daniel Kruczinsky was born in 1958 in Poland. In 1969 he moved with his family to Munich Germany after his father was released from the Auschwitz concentration camp in Poland. His upbringing was tumultuous and lonely as he strived to live up to his father’s expectations, unrealistic expectations that no human being could ever really live up to. Daniel’s boyhood days would be filled with a cold harshness that could only have come out of someone who spent years in a concentration camp, and years where every human emotion was drained from the very core of the prisoner’s body.
With his life missing the essentials necessary for a child to grow strong in self esteem and character, Daniel soon found himself empty of both and not feeling any self worth or value to anyone, he became soon became void of emotions as well.Early in his youth he started to “create” identities that he thought would give him the recognition and love he always craved, but never received growing up. Though he had a mother, it was the love, attention and respect from his father that he craved throughout his childhood, thus his mother became a non-entity in his life, and continues to be that yet today. Daniel not only created multiple identities, he perfected lies about himself to the point that he became what is known today as a, “pathological liar” in which the liar actually starts to believe their own lies, not being able to tell truth from fiction.
As he moved out into the world, Daniel Kruschinski changed the Polish spelling of his name hoping that he would be better accepted by his peers, and possibly out of feelings that he was not worthy to carry that name having failed receiving respect and love from his father.
He began his medical studies at Düsseldorf University in October 1979, and finished in November 1985. For the dissertation entitled "Selective histochemical zinc presentation in testis of the Wistar rat", carried out at the Anatomical Institute of Düsseldorf University under Prof. H.G. Goslar, he was awarded his doctorate in September 1986 with the mark "Summa cum laude". As his dissertation was a skeptical piece of work, many of his superiors were not surprised as throughout his time at the university, Daniel was seen as being rather, freaky.” Kruschinski flaunted that he was smarter than the “normal” human being, and wittier, and was often of a boastful nature, and with an attitude that gave one the impression he could care less what others thought of him!
In what seemed to be a hasty change of mind from a future in the area of research, Kruschinski turned his education to the area of gynecology and obstetrics at the gynecology clinic of the Franzkiskus-Hospital in Bielefeld under the direction of Prof. Dr. med. J.D. Schnell and continued at the gynecology clinic of Minden Hospital under Prof. Dr. med. H. Wagner. Educated as a physician now, Kruschinski set up practices in private centers where he would be free to conduct his bizarre experiments. There's no record of whether or not he had a hunchbacked assistant named Igor, but “Doc. Kru” (who often went by that name on his Internet message boards) did have an assistant who he said was a nurse, but in reality, she was only his mistress, never having been trained as a nurse, yet working side by side with him in his operating room during these experimental procedures!
From 1990 to 1995, Dr. Kruschinski worked at the Clinic and Polyclinic for Obstetrics of Johannes Gutenberg University Mainz under Prof. Dr. med. P.G. Knapstein. Here he established the center for minimally invasive surgery and was in charge of consulting hours for plastic surgery of the breast. After this, Dr. Kruschinski was attending physician at the University Gynecology Clinic at the Knappschaftskrankenhaus Bochum-Langendreer under Prof. Dr. med. A. Jensen. And then in February 1998 he established a surgical office in Alzey, focusing mainly on minimally invasive surgery. Following consultation here, he treated his patients in the Kirchheimbolanden Hospital. Finally, on admission as faculty member to the faculty of medicine of the private Witten / Herdecke University he was made head of the Institute for Endoscopic Gynecology. Little did he know that he would continue to “run” from Klinik to Klinik, and move between some of the same cities that his relative, Johann Konrad Dippel had done for so many years, and for the same reasons as his ancestor had! To name a FEW: Schärding-Austria, Offenbach, Eilenriedeklinik Hannover, Klinik am Zuckerberg Braunschweigm, Emma Klinik, Seligenstadt, Passua, Rotthalmünster, Bavaria, Bochum-Langendreer, Mainz, Bielefeld, WittenGermany!






Dr. Kruschinski went on to create a world that he was certain would evolve into his wildest dreams, one of fame, fortune and world domination! He created, “EndoGyn® - Institute for Endoscopic Gynecology,” and that move would lead him into the dark world of human experiments, extremes in surgeries, obsessions with surgical techniques, surgical instruments and procedures, pushing things to the limits and beyond. Not seeming to care who got hurt by his extremes, he continued to harvest patients to his operating rooms with lies, deceit, and “charisma!”
His whole life would be filled with short -lived relationships! His peers would continue to find him, “freaky” and “odd” to be around. He started to drink heavy, remaining in his offices day and night! He would write controversial paper’s, which only served to anger those in the scientific world of research, as he wrote them without any proof of validating research associated with them. Time and again, his scientific writings would be proven false in content!As in keeping with the times, Dr. Kruschinski used the Internet as a means to make himself known, and unfortunately, to make his fortune! For a brief time it seemed as though he would accomplish his dream of becoming a famous International surgeon, a “savior” of sorts. He would even publicly compare himself to “Einstein,” and to “God!” “Doctors from EndoGyn® are now performing surgery in many locations and hospitals. The idea of franchising endoscopic surgery is getting reality” he would say over and over again, seeming only to be fooling him-self!
Dr. Kruschinski made lots of money from performing operations on people from all over the world, people who had to pay him cash if they wanted HIS special 100% proven surgery that he promised would cure them! And pay they did, for a while that is!Soon these patients were NOT getting well, and many of them were returning to his operating room time and again, and paying cash each time! Some of these patients were almost cut in half in operations were he called himself a “reconstructive surgeon,” yet not ever having had that training! Others were placed on a “hook” that suspended them into the air like beef hanging in the slaughterhouse! Time and again he overused this “hook” apparatus, causing severe damage to those he used it on, and left many of them in horrible, non-reversible pain and disabling symptoms!
“Doc. Kru” even gave discounts to some if they would keep the secret that he did not make them well, let alone cure them! And some patients did this so they could come back and let him try again to heal them, only to find themselves once again on the “hook!”It soon it became apparent to him that he could no longer “scam” patients over the Internet, and he lost money, causing him to fall into bankruptcy, losing his hospital affiliations time and again, and soon he found himself a fugitive from his collectors! What he did seem to accomplish through his use of the Internet was the cult like followers who, no matter if he had injured them in a surgery, insulted them in a public manner by calling them drug addicts and alcoholics, they continue to praise him! They praise him even after he confessed that he did in fact perform experiments on his patients and then boldly published a paper on it!Dr. Kruschinski was so void of ethics and morals, that he would deny his Jewish birth when it benefited him, then used it when it benefited him, and at times, he even professed to be a Catholic in order to be “accepted” into a community of Christians at a Klinik he was hoping to infiltrate!
Though Dr. Daniel Kruschniski has lost everything that would associate him to being a Dr., and fleeing from one area of Germany to the other, at ties calling upon patients and colleges to let him sleep in their homes, he lives on, surfacing now and then on the Internet! It is apparent that “Doc. Kru” has reverted back to the original opinion of himself, which is an empty shell of a human being, he uses posts on the Internet as if he is gasping for a breath, as it will only come in the words of praise from those who are as dysfunctional as he is, yet, this IS all that is left of his life.
Soon his Internet web site will shut down, moneys due it not forthcoming and Endogyn will be gone, and as “Doc Kru” said in his own words, “I am Endogyn, and Endogyn is me. Where it is, I am, and so be it!” As he desperately posts his last words, and there is no way to send them across the Internet, he will breath his last breath before he slides into the murky, darkness of his ways. He will cease to exist! Because of his upbringing, he saw himself as a failure, an empty shell, a “nothing” and in this, he was finally right!
Kru will drown from an emotion he wasn’t even aware that he had. No, it is not guilt of what he did to others, as he is void of that emotion, but from his own inability to be able to be someone he created, and even in that, he failed!

Though unlike his ancestor, Johann Konrad Dippel, Daniel Kruschinski “lives” but he lives as a “nothing.” Dr. Daniel Kruschinski, like his ancestor, Johann Konrad Dippel, after a tumultuous and lonely life, became another legend in the history of Frankenstein, though he too would never be recognized for his scientific abilities, instead he has became known as "Kruschinsky the Phsycho-Surgeon" who experimented on his unsuspecting patients from 2003-2006 and admitted it to the world!”
