Carl Desjardins has been suffering from a life altering condition known as Abdominal Adhesions for 3 years now.Every year it has gotten progressively worse to the point of total debilitation as of August of 2009. Abdominal adhesions are internal scar tissue that binds two things together that should be separate. This creates chronic pain, nausea vomiting and functional digestive problems. These leaves sufferers debilitated with symptoms that leave the individual living in an nightmare with absolutely no quality of life, or the inability to support themselves. Sufferers often use these words to describe their pain: sharp and pulling, feeling as though the internal organs are twisted, severe abdominal pain that may be specific to one or more areas or completely covering the abdominal and/or pelvic region, bloating of the abdomen, nausea, vomiting, constipation, intermittent diarrhea with constipation. Sufferers may also deal with headaches or migraines, have difficulty walking uprightly (due to abdominal organs that are fused together)'-http://www.adhesionpain.net/RAW CrossFit Fundraiser The Event :Where: RAW CrossFit (19 Laurier Rd. Penetang)Who: Teams of 4 (teams must include min 1 female)How much: $25 a person =$100 dollars a team (feel free to raise more if you can).What: Compete by accomplishing a variety of workouts/tasks or activities for best overall time. NOTE: You do not have to be experienced with the CrossFit training style to participate, everything will be explained to you and scaled to accommodate for your teams skill level. Bonus: Come out and get some exercise and support a great cause to restore some normality for a 3 year sufferer of Abdominal Adhesions. A BBQ and other fun recreational activities will be taking place.We want this to be BIG. Please invite as many people as you can, and let's make this a fun filled day for a great cause. The purpose :Raising money for Carl's Adhesiolysis surgery in Germany by Dr. Daniel Kruschinski who is world renowned in adhesion treatments.Cost = $15 000Karen Steward has donated $6700 towards the surgery, her daughter suffered for 14 yrs and had 2 unsuccessful surgeries in the States, before receiving 1 successful treatment in Germany by Dr. K and has been symptom free since 2003.She has now dedicated her life to raising awareness about this disorder, and created a website that better explains the disorder http://www.adhesionpain.net/.
