Dear All It seems that my requests to behave nicely on this board have gone unheeded. As soon as I am technically able I will be removing all the offending posts. For fear of repetition:
1. DO NOT make accusations about anyone that you cannot support in a court of law
2. Even if you think you can make such accusations, this is not the place to do it. If you have a gripe against someone - approach them respectfully and directly. Do not use this board as a battle ground. If you think you have a valid criticism about anyone, document it carefully. Summarise the points you want to make (in one or two short sentences) and then back it up with complete documentation. Do not use inuendo. It does not stand up in a court of law. It will not stand up here. Review your case and ask yourself if you are really being to harsh on the person. Do you really have evidence to support your point? Give them the benefit of the doubt.
3. DO NOT escalate tensions by responding on this message baord. Contrary to popular beleif - I do not spend 24 hours a day checking my email and message board postings. If you see something that looks odd - please tell either myself or Tracy Joslin (tracy.joslin@adhesions.org) by email and phone. I cannot guarnatee to remove posts immediately, but we will try.
4. Avoid the temptation to conduct your war even in email. What you say will end up on a message baord somewhere, no doubt out of context.
5. We ARE NOT AGAINST DR. Kruschinski. Please stop all allegations to the contrary. My post of a few weeks ago was fully endorsed by him. He has told me that some people misinterpreted that post. Again - HE FULLY ENDORSED THAT POST. We totally resent any accusation that the IAS has been behind any some smear camapaign. It is not true.
6. We encourage Dr. K (and any other doctor doing this kind of work) to collect his data and to present them to the medical community. Both Dr. K and I fully expect that given the severity of the ARD disease, there will be patients in whom pain or other symptoms will recur after his, or anyone else's surgery.
7. A message board is not the place to conduct serious medical research. A patient's perception about their problems is easily influenced by their expectations and their impressions. By continuing to post glowing reviews about Dr. K, or anyone use YOU ARE HARMING HIS CREDIBILITY. Let me spell this out. By inflating someone's expectations about their surgery with any doctor, you are going to make them more dissapointed if even the slightest thing goes wrong. Similarly, any posting of a problem may prompt a patient to believe that their minor problem may be similar. Consequently talk of "complications" can be blown out of proportion. Nonetheless - he has a section in his message board where he invites people to discuss their problems after surgery. The section is called: "Continuing pain after surgery Here you are welcome to discuss your problems after having surgery ... "
I do not think this is a terribly good idea to have such a section, but if you are compelled to discuss problems that is the place to do it.

I have discussed this frequently with Dr. K and have stressed that we want him to collect sound and credible data. Please help him to do this by respecting the rules of this board.

8. Dr. K has shared with us (as well as posted on his own board)some preliminary results of his data. I STRESS preliminary becuase they are legitimately open to some interpretation IN EITHER DIRECTION.

It seems that there have been some 33 US patients that have seen Dr. K in the last 11 months or so. Some of them must be excluded from the analysis for good reasons (eg patients have gallbladder or appendix operations etc) , leaving 27 patients for analysis. Of these 6 of them have reported some recurrence of pain or adhesions, which is 21%. THIS IS A VERY GOOD RESULT, but nonetheless a preliminary one. We will be happy to revise this estimate when there is full documentation from Dr. K. This compares very well with another study (that we will report to you shortly) in which a US doctor performed similar procedures (using Seprafilm and conventional laparoscopy) in 19 apparently similar patients with a 24% rate of return of symptoms.The follow up there was 1-32 months. The jury is not yet in however becuase we need to see longer follow up for both studies, as well as data from Dr. K's European patients. We encourage him to collect these data. Please help him maintain its credibility by refraining from comment in either direction.

Beware of the Abdo-lift....

Abdominal wall lift decreases cardiopulmonary changes, does not influence the morbidity and, increases operating time in laparoscopic cholecystectomy. It cannot be recommended routinely
.Gurusamy KS, Samraj K, Davidson BR.Published Online: July 16, 2008.Several physiological parameters related to heart and lung (cardiopulmonary changes) occur during insufflation of abdomen (tummy) with key-hole surgery. While these changes can be tolerated by normal individuals, patients with poor heart or lung function may not tolerate the changes. These changes in physiological parameters related to heart and lung are decreased by using special instruments to lift the front wall of the abdomen so that key-hole surgery can be performed without gas insufflation. In this systematic review of 20 trials including 706 patients (six trials including 156 patients used gas at very low pressures), it is shown that the technique of lifting the front wall of the tummy is associated with increased operating time (8 minutes) without reducing surgical complications. It cannot be recommended as a routine in patients with mild or no systemic disease. So, it cannot be recommended routinely in patients with low anaesthetic risk.

I came home one day to find a notice of lawsuit firmly attached to my front door. Thinking it was an error, I paid little mind to it until I read the portion demanding the date and time I should appear in court. I contacted Michael Weston. After faxing over the lawsuit document, Michael took it from there. About one month later, I learned the Plaintiff voluntarily dismissed their case against me. Kruschinski has traps that I guess we can coin as credibility traps where the unsuspecting might actually believe his garbage!

IHRT has been assured that the Karl Storz Co. has stopped manufacturing and sales of the AbdoLift long ago.
Besides, IHRT tipped off a klinik that Kruschinsi and gasless was a con and he hi tailed it out of there so quick he left his abdolift there with a bunch of unopened mail! Bills we believe.

I Need Help Paying for Much Needed Adhesiolysis Surgery
Hello, I appreciate you reading my post. I am a 35 year old female in need of surgery to remove pelvic adhesions. Adhesions are scar tissue, or bands of fibrous tissues that bind your organs together (bowel to ovary or stomach to intestine, for example) so that your organs cannot move independently as they are designed to do. My adhesions cause pain- everyday. We suspect they are causing infertility (based on findings during prior surgery) and we are scheduled to do a dye test to confirm this. I have been married for 3 years, so this was a particularly sad piece of news. My adhesions are pulling on my organs causing a constant spasm cycle that is extremely difficult, if not impossible to break as long as adhesions are present. Plain and simple-I hurt. Every day.

Removal of adhesions or, adhesiolysis (ad-hee-zee-oh-lye-sis) is both the treatment and the cause of the disease! Yes, you read that right. Removal of adhesions through surgery only makes them worse! When you cut away the fibrous bands of tissue, more scarring forms and the adhesions return, binding your organs- most often worse then before! This can affect ANYONE who has surgery! This I know first hand as my first surgery to remove adhesions has only caused me more pain.I have insurance, but they will not pay for the surgery. Let me explain. In the USA, adhesions are generally removed through laparoscopy which is done by inflating the patient's abdomen with CO2 gas then inserting tiny instruments into the abdomen to cut or burn the tissue away from the organs. Often times, doctors will fill the abdomen post-adhesiolysis with a saline solution in order to try to prevent adhesions from reforming. This is exactly how my last surgery was performed. There are 2 issues with this entire approach: 1. Studies show that the use of CO2 gas acidifies the abdomen thereby creating the ideal environment for adhesions to grow! 2. The saline solution is completely ineffective in preventing adhesions from growing. The tender tissues (that have just been cut or burned) are raw and ready to sprout more scars. It is a vicious cycle. This is COMMON knowledge amongst the medical community and I have been told that having another surgery to relieve my pain is not a good idea since I will likely only get worse. In despair, I created an Adhesion Group discussion board and met a woman who found a doctor in Germany who is using a different approach to removing adhesions. Her daughter was violently ill and repeatedly misdiagnosed for 13 years and then they found this doctor and an answer. I have been in contact with about a dozen of US residents who have been pain free for 5+ years since having this procedure. It works!Instead of using CO2 to inflate the belly, the doctor uses a procedure called Abdolift. It is basically a mechanical way to look inside the body which sidesteps creating an acidic "adhesion encouraging" environment. The gasless method also prevents the typical post surgical pain associated with CO2 in your belly- when you wake up, you basically feel like someone is digging a shovel into both shoulders and you are freezing cold. The other method the German doctor uses is the application of an adhesion barrier called Spraygel. During surgery, this blue gel is applied to the areas where adhesions were removed in order to prevent new ones from growing. Spraygel works- it provides a barrier and adhesions cannot reform! And they form very quickly- within 7 days! On day 7 or 8, the doctor goes in for a second look at which time more adhesiolysis is performed if needed along with a second coat of Spray Gel. The trip is 14 days and the surgery is 8500 euros, roughly $12,500 USD at today's exchange rate. The success rate of this surgery is 90%! Now those are some odds I can bank on!Here is where my insurance fails- they will not pay for surgery outside of the US and they will not pay for surgery they consider "experimental". Neither SprayGel or Abdolift are FDA approved. When US doctors tested Spraygel for FDA approval, they did it with CO2 gas- no wonder it failed to produce results! Germany is far more advanced in this arena than the US is and this doctor is currently my only hope in getting better-PER MY DOCTOR!We have looked into borrowing the lump sum of money which was not approved. We do not have enough equity in our home (only been here 3 years) and the doctor does not accept credit cards- kind of a good thing when you consider the interest rate. We do not have enough in retirement to borrow against our 401k. I have looked for clinical trials that I might be part of, however there are none that apply. I have looked into buying another insurance policy that would cover even a portion of the expenses, however it was quickly apparent that this was not possible or feasible. I am trying to say that I have looked at as many options as I can think of- and I feel I have exhausted them all. I am feeling pretty hopeless in figuring out how I will find $12k and that does not include airfare or expense for my husband to join me, either! Of course, I would travel alone even though it is highly unappealing to me to be sick in a foreign country- alone. If we could figure a way to fund even a portion of the expenses, we would be in a more realistic spot to afford this surgery. Right now, $12k is simply out of reach.I found this page through referral and thought I would give it a whirl. Perhaps there is a donor out there who knows about chronic illness firsthand and the effect it has on not only the sufferer, but also the family. Perhaps there is a donor who knows how it feels to have the infertility bomb dropped on them. I know it is silly, but I have been playing the lottery ($3 a week) trying to win some money so that I could help others in this situation- and if I ever win it, that is exactly what I would do, too. When you go for surgery, adhesions are not even talked about as being a risk! It is surprising how few people are even aware of adhesion related disorders. Increasing awareness and pushing for research on new methods are key to helping others get well. I spent the past 7 years being misdiagnosed over and over until a doctor finally decided to look inside my body for endometriosis (I have none, another misdiagnosis!) but even he did not talk to me about the potential of adhesions until after he found them! It is a horrible shame that an answer for adhesion pain exists, but insurance companies in the US are unwilling to provide the vehicle to wellness. I cannot understand why there is secrecy around adhesions amongst the medical community. Very little progress is being made in our country even though there are many sufferers who are told daily that there is no cure for adhesions, their pain, their infertility. The current treatment standard in the US is is also the cause. There clearly is an answer through Abdolift and Spraygel. A 90% success rate. It does not make sense that this procedure is not offered in the US, but it seems a lot in our world really doesn't make sense either.Thank you for reading and considering my situation for donation. I am perfectly willing to answer more questions or for your donation to go directly to the doctor, though I could not possibly imagine using money for anything else. I am chronically ill, I am in pain and I am out of answers.

Look at the words Karen uses to sell her junk...amazing, like she has no conscience at all, HELLO! ( Did IHRT really ask this???)

This book appears to be the "autobiography" of a VERY dysfunctional Texas Mother - Karen Steward!

IHRT'S REVIEW of Karen Steward's:The author of this book promotes it as containing information about "Adhesion Related Disorder" and a young ladies walk with it. Yeah Right!
IHRT found the book to reflect the authors impressions of what ARD victims live with while battling this disorder, and she does it in a way that leads one to think that SHE would give anything to have ARD herself as she seems to thrive on all the medical attention and difficulty one faces when dealing with ARD.

There is a tone of "excitement," an almost euphoric behavior in the author whenever she "confronts" Dr.'s, or anyone else even remotely associated with her daughters medical care, and one must remind themselves that the daughter is an adult, not a child as the mother would have one believe as she "diligently" controls everything in her daughters life.
By the time the reader finishes this book, IF they finish this book that is, they could easily draw the conclusion that Karen Steward suffers from " Munchhausen by Proxy" based on her bizarre behaviors and outbursts.

There is a heavy lean toward the possibility that a "romance" between her daughter's OBGYN in Germany, Dr. Kruschinski, and herself exists. Not only does Karen Steward say terrible things about her husband, she admits to hating him more the once and giving him the evil "eye" assuming the reader knows what that is! It is chilling!

It is interesting that Karen's words soften when she writes about Dr. Kruschinski, a man who her daughter admits to NOT liking at all, and a daughter who admits that she is still fighting the pain and symptoms associated with ARD!

On a sad note here, Melissa's mother, the author seems to find it difficult to accept that the OBGYN in Germany whom she idealizes might not have been any different for her daughter the the many Dr.'s in the USA whom she calls names and accuses of being frauds in this book! (Note: It is a well known fact that while the author was in Germany seeking medical intervention for her daughter( unsuccessfully,) she had words with the OBGYN's mistress more then once!) Can you imagine waking up to HIS face!?? YIKES!!" Ms. Katzer can. Both wives can...and a few "Dubon buddies" can! Can Karen??

IHRT found that this book DID NOT reflect anything about the true struggles victims of ARD face in their fight to get well, instead it is filled with the "psychotic" behaviors of a mother filled with anger, (she does confess that she has had anger problems well before her daughter was diagnosed with ARD,) hatred, bizarre behaviors, and VERY judgmental of just about everyone in her life, except her daughter's OBGYN that is! (In response to a question Karen asks her reader in this book, IHRT responds "YES, Karen, you definately should seek anger management again! Without a doubt!)

Here are some other things IHRT found in the book:= 99.9% of the "treatment" options mentioned in the book were obsolete and were proven ineffective well before the book went to print, and the author was 99.9% aware of this fact!

=There is a hint of the possibility that the author might also have a "drinking or drug problem" again, based on what appear to be VERY dysfunctional behaviors, severe mood swings and tyrants as she goes off on so frequently. This behavior is NOT indicative of a loving, mother advocating for her child, again, it is hard to keep in mind that the author is not writing about a child with ARD but rather an adult daughter!
(The daughter's ARD trials and tribulations are silent within these pages, interestingly enough as it is promoted as a book ABOUT the struggles of ARD! Again, are we reading the words of a mother who appears to wish she had ARD and all the "attention" one reaps from living with it, even though 99.9% of this attention is NEGATIVE ! SICK, but it does appear in the book as though this mother has that desire! Creepy person!)
=Karen Steward, author and mother extraordinaire, writes more about her daughters vagina and rectum in the book (and on the Internet) then one would find a victim of ARD writing about themselves! No sense of respect for her daughters privacy is found in this book.
=This book has overtones of this mother exploiting her own daughter for purposes of satisfying her own selfish needs and attention!
=This book offers persons with ARD absolutely nothing!
=This book is NOT correct in it's portrayal of this most hideous disorder!
=This book is absolutely useless in any capacity for education and awareness of "Adhesion Related Disorder!"

In IHRT's opinion, "Doctors: Bound by Secrecy? Victims: Bound by Pain!" should be listed alongside "A Million Little Pieces" and other non credible books that make the claim of offering factual material within it's pages, but instead one finds it filled with out right lies! Both these books seem to be written through the mind of some needy authors!

More honestly and on a serious note, IHRT recommends that Karen's book be promoted under "Mental Disorders" as it does offer what appears to be a profile of a very deranged person, and a mother no less, who enjoys her daughter's suffering as long as the mother gets the attention!
One has to wonder if all the "mothers" in Texas are bred with some sort of psychosis and can only live through their daughters lives!

On a positive note about this book, IHRT heard through the grapevine that Karen's husband said that this book portrays an accurate depiction of Karen Steward's behaviors, and is actually an "autobiography" and in that, this book was factual he said!
In IHRTS opinion this book does NOT offer victims of ARD hope, but rather snake oil! (But then again, when has Karen Steward ever offered hope to victims of ARD?)

Here ia peek at what you will find between the covers of this book, and maybe between the sheets of a bed in Germany......and if this blurb from the book doesn't make any sense to you, know that it is 100% indicative of everything else found in this book!

This posting in not meant as an advertisement for Mercola: I can relate to this! but rather as food for thought for those who feel hopeless when it comes to pain, medicine, and health related issues. The Teflon application in this story reminds me of the touted "injection" that was pushed at Melissa at her follow-up visit after her first surgery in which adhesions were revealed. The surgeon who uncovered the true cause of illness--adhesions--later insisted that she be 'treated' for the pain of endometriosis. (Confusing enough, huh?).......

So, here are a few points to ponder IF anyone reads the book that is:

~Did the doctors have Melissa's pain and suffering; and her best interest, at heart? Or was there an ulterior motive behind the suggested 'treatment'?

~Did Kruschinski have Melissa's best interest at heart, or, did he have her mothers "boobs" on his mind?

~Did all these Dr.'s that Karen insisted her daughter see just want money?

~ Has Karen always hated her neighbors so much?~ Has Karen always been so "judgmental" of everyone she meets?

~Does Karen still hate Kruschinski's mistress, Micheala Katzer, like she did when she was with her in Germany? (IHRT thinks that jealousy over "STUD KRU" caused sparks to fly between Mistress Katzer and Karen!)

~Is Karen reveling signs of "Munchhausen by Proxy" in her behaviors of what appear to be almost a fervor pitched excitment whenever Melissa required medical attention? (Keep in mind that Melissa is a grown women here! Perhaps SHE really cannot make a decision having a controlling mother such as Karen presents herself as!)

~ Did Karen and Kru spend more time drinking together in his office then Kru spent "Doctoring her daughter?

~Did Karen find her daughters OBGYN a better fit for her then her own husband?

~Do ya think Karen promoted this book to her church family and/or her neighbors? LOL!

~Did Karen ever really respect her daughter throughout this ordeal?

~Does melissa have some sort of psychological/emotional disorder to need her mother to do all the bizarre things she claims in this book to have done on behalf of her adult daughter?

~Is Karen an ARD wannabe? (Sic)

~Does Karen's Endogyn posting handle "Gingirl" bring visions of a card player or drinker to mind when reading about Karen's behaviors in this book?(IHRT wonders who Karen would play cards with the way she belittles all the people in this book! But we do know how Doc Kruschinski drinks, so perhaps they did not play cards all those times they were in his office "advocating" for ARD victims!)

~Why wouldn't Karen respect her daughter and "butt" out of her bussiness when her daughter asked her to? This book portrays Karen as being a controlling, nasty, overbearing, mother who is going to do whatever she wants to regardless of how it impacts a very ill daughter, who she makes out to be a dummy with no self-esteem or brains to think for herself.

Hi Annie..whew had to wade thru the "Dr. K" fight to get here, but I just wanted to toss out my standard "have they checked for C Diff", if you follow thru with Doc Kevin's advice on stool sampling. You mentioned frequent antibiotics. Also, false negatives can occur if stool test isnt done 10-14 days after last dose. Just my two cents, and best of luck to your son.

More reasons to doubt Kru's practices!!!

 In 1999, Dr. Brian West, a Long Beach, Calif., performed a double mastectomy and breast reconstruction surgery on Becky Anderson. The procedure left her with gaping, infected wounds that wouldn't close and, ultimately, a grotesque lump the size of a melon caused by organs spilling through an unhealed hole in her abdomen.

IHRT asks......If surgeons in the USA can get away with this kind of "practice," then why would anyone doubt Kruschinski would not be able to get away with the atrocities he commits on patients in Germany, India and any other country he performed his experiments?

IHRT would bet that these surgeons were REALLY nice to their patients too!

SAN FRANCISCO - Troubling cases in which doctors were accused of botching operations while undergoing treatment for drugs or alcohol have led to criticism of rehab programs that allow thousands of U.S. physicians to keep their addictions hidden from their patients.

Nearly all states have confidential rehab programs that let doctors continue practicing as long as they stick with the treatment regimen. Nationwide, as many as 8,000 doctors may be in such programs, by one estimate.
These arrangements largely escaped public scrutiny until last summer, when California's medical board outraged physicians across the country by abolishing its 27-year-old program. A review concluded that the system failed to protect patients or help addicted doctors get better.
Opponents of such programs say the medical establishment uses confidential treatment to protect dangerous physicians.
"Patients have no way to protect themselves from these doctors," said Julie Fellmeth, who heads the University of San Diego's Center for Public Interest Law and led the opposition to California's so-called diversion program.
Most addiction specialists favor allowing doctors to continue practicing while in confidential treatment, as does the American Medical Association.
Supporters of such programs say that cases in which patients are harmed by doctors in treatment are extremely rare, and would pale next to the havoc that could result if physicians had no such option.

"If you don't have confidential participation, you don't get people into the program," said Sandra Bressler, the California Medical Association's senior director for medical board affairs.
California's program ends June 30. If no alternative program is adopted, the rules could revert back to the zero-tolerance policy in place before 1980, when doctors who were found by the medical board to have drug or alcohol problems were immediately stripped of their licenses.
No other state has followed California's lead. But the president of California's medical board, Dr. Richard Fantozzi, said that behind the scenes, regulators nationwide share his ambivalence toward such programs.
"To hide something from consumers, something so blatant ... it's unconscionable today," Fantozzi said.

Between 10 percent and 15 percent of physicians nationwide will have a substance abuse problem at some point in their lives, a rate similar to that of the general population, according to widespread estimates. An estimated 7,500 to 8,000 practicing doctors are probably in confidential treatment, or about 1 percent of all physicians practicing in the U.S., said Dr. Greg Skipper, head of Alabama's program and a leader of an upcoming study on the issue.
Opponents of such programs are unable to cite any documented cases in which doctors who were confidentially undergoing treatment botched operations while drunk or high. But they say the very secrecy of the programs makes it hard to assess the risks.
Nevertheless, some doctors have been accused of harming patients while they were in treatment.

In Montana, a patient accused a doctor enrolled in the state's treatment program of not following up on her abnormal test results, delaying her cancer diagnosis by more than a year. Montana revoked Dr. Robert Schure's license last year after he flunked out of treatment six times since 1994, according to board documents. The patient's suit was settled for an undisclosed sum.

A North Carolina surgeon enrolled in the state's program for alcoholism charged patients for one type of gastric bypass and then performed a shortcut procedure that led to serious complications, including stomach ulcers and vomiting, according to patients and a medical board investigation.

It wasn't until Dr. Steven Olchowski lost his license in 2005, years after many of the incidents occurred, that his participation in North Carolina's program became publicly known.
Opponents of California's program have focused on the case of Dr. Brian West, a Long Beach plastic surgeon who has been accused of negligence by the state medical board and is fighting to keep his license.

Weeks before performing his final, futile procedure on her, West was arrested for a drunken-driving accident.

After his conviction, West entered the diversion program for alcoholism. A year later he performed a tummy tuck on a 37-year-old woman that also healed poorly.
West ultimately flunked out of the treatment program after investigators uncovered a pattern of relapses, binge drinking and doctored urine tests that "demonstrate that he is a physician who has been long and chronically impaired by alcohol," according to a 2005 medical board complaint.

West's supporters say he has been made a scapegoat, asserting that he is not to blame for his patients' complications and that the severity of his drinking problem has been exaggerated by investigators. "I have no information from any of my investigations that Dr. West has ever cared for patients while under the influence of alcohol," said his attorney, Dominique Pollara.
West admitted no fault in settling Anderson's malpractice lawsuit for $250,000, Pollara said. The tummy-tuck patient lost her malpractice case.

Without the assurance of confidentiality, some say, addicted doctors will go underground and continue to practice without getting any treatment at all.
Jim Conway, a Venice, Calif., drug and alcohol counselor, said that before confidential treatment programs, doctors would do whatever they could to hide their addiction for fear they would lose their licenses.

At a Pomona hospital where Conway worked, an alcoholic obstetrician came to work and delivered a baby while "dead drunk," he said. In the process, the doctor severed the newborn's spine.

"And that's how it will be if they just do a punitive approach," Conway said.
Dr. Jason Giles, a Malibu physician, completed California's program in 2004 after five years in treatment for alcoholism and addiction to prescription drugs.
"I was never intoxicated taking care of patients. It didn't get to that — but would have if I didn't avail myself of that rope dropped from the helicopter," he said.
His experience in rehab was so transformative, he said, that he quit practicing anesthesiology and opened the drug treatment center he now runs.

Giles said allowing physicians to continue to practice while in rehabilitation is crucial to the success of the treatment.
"Working actually helps them get better," he said.

I know I am not good about posting. Sorry! I am just too busy chasing my little boy and enjoying my life!!! I am very disappointed knowing that people exist in this world who have tried (and continue to try) to discredit Dr. Kruschinski. Before my mom and I went to Germany, I was without hope. Honestly, I never thought anyone could ever help me. I had totally given up hope. I would not even have gone to Germany had it not been for my mom insisting, because I had already had 2 surgeries and I only ended up in worse shape after those surgeries! I developed pain in areas where I didn't have pain before after those surgeries!!! So, I was pretty upset that my mom thought I should go for another surgery!! Because I was so sick, and no one could help me, I was only asking God to help me make it through each day. I prayed for pain free days and I felt so blessed if I had a day when I wasn't vomiting! When a person has lived in terrible pain every day for many long years and spends their life vomiting and crying and you've gone to doctor after doctor, you finally lose all hope to ever be well again.
I had lost all hope! Thank God, my mom had not lost hope for me, because I would have never had another surgery!!!!!!!!! Because I respect my mom and dad and know they have my best interest at heart, I agreed to go to Germany to Dr. Kruschinski. But, I admit I was not happy about going!!!!! I just knew that a doctor was not going to help me because we had been to soooooooo many doctors!!!! But, was I in for a shock when I woke up from surgery!!!!!!! I could tell that Dr. K had accomplished something inside of me that the other surgeons had not!!!!!!! I was afraid to even think it was possible that he had helped me, and my mom was asking over and over if I felt any difference. I really wouldn't talk much because I just knew that even though things felt different that at any time the old pain was going to start and I would be doubled over. I also was positive that I would be vomiting again, as this was how I lived eery day!!!!!!!! Well, I never did feel the old pain again and when I ate, I did not vomit!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
My mom said that one of the moron women who attack Dr. K recently posted that I am not well. Isn't this strange, because to my knowledge this woman DOES NOT KNOW ME!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! How would she know how my health is???? For her information and for those who may wonder if she speaks the truth, I can tell you the woman is a liar, for I am VERY MUCH WELL AND VERY, VERY ACTIVE AND VERY, VERY HAPPY!!!!!!!!!! Not only am I well, but I have been well ever since I left Germany in April of 2003!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Have I had any problems? Yes, I know few people who don't!! For her information I have PCOS and I will deal with it, so she can stop spreading lies that I am not well!!
I would like to tell suffering people that this illness is not understood in America. It is very sad, but very true. I know because I lived it!!!!! God has blessed Dr. K to help people who suffer and if I were the women who attack him, I would walk in fear before God!!!! It is just like Satan to rise up and attack a person who has found the answer to an illness!!!!! These 2 women must be very sick in the head. I feel very sorry for people who live with such hatred in their hearts. That is what is wrong with the world today. Karen, Of course you would say this. You are "Master Sergeant" of Daniels website. I stand by my three operative reports. The proof is in my operative reports. Daniel lies to cover his mistakes and his inability's.
Karen, we will continue to expose what happened in Germany weather you like it or not.
I don't care if anyone believes me (How or why I would make this up??) or not but at least this information can now be shared as we have learned to combat the suppression of truth. No more can you shut down a website by complaining. No more can you guys hack and try to bring websites down to repress facts and opinions other than those that will bring a patient to Germany.

Dawn, I really don't believe that this kind of answers are a help for adhesion
sufferers as the exactly send them where there is NO HOPE... To
surgeons who perform surgeries after surgeries with no or only a litte
success results. Adhesion sufferers are the most complex, complicated
patients to treat. Surgeons who knows that adhesions are coming back
in a large number of theirs surgeries or that one who are gynecologic
surgeons without experience in bowel surgery, are harming the patients
knowing about alternatives. Could you explain if this is your intended purpose ? I have no problem if you continue to do so, then let me know and I will
take you out of my contact list for US.

I got a little confused by your answers on the board and that you say, patients should ask Dr. Wiseman for further help and should search in the IAS website and so on. This was a logical advice to your email. And it's not true that you contacted me so many times about your condition, I have nice aemails from you and even from your daughter about you joining the life now and one about that you are in pain... and I have a copy of them, so I can show it to everyone.
OK, now to your Questions:
1)To achieve hemostasis we have a wonderful instrument, the bipolar scissors, which comes from laparotomy and can be only used in gasless laparsocopy. With this instrument you can achieve a very good hemostasis.
2) Gauze is not used in the surgery, only a sponge which does help tp make the preparation very easy and doesn't cause any problems. It gives me the same tools as in laparotomy (which are anyway better than the long ones from laparoscopy where the surgeon doesn't feel what he is doing... he loses the tactile sense of his hands... so he is a surgeon without a hand ...)
3)The drain is important to recognize bleedings after surgery and by this drain the little ringer which I put inside disappears. Why I put a drain because I want to see the bleeding which can occure after every surgery, even by one who doesn't put the drain ... so in by this I can earlier plan an additional intervention if there is a bleeding...other doctors without a drain deosn't recogize e blleding at all...
4)The body / peritoneum answers to everything that is a foreign body (SpraGel is also one) with inflammation and some blood escape... individually in some patients more in others less, this blood is already without any coagulative substances so it can’t coagulate and so thus can’t cause adhesions as it doesn’t contain fibrinogen... Nothing to worry about, this is not blood that makes adhesions, this is a peritoneal fluid and is reddish and as it can’t escape while it is covered by SprayGel, it shows exactly the reaction I describe in the operative report and which shows a “healthy”, smooth and shining peritoneum with neovascularistion ! The inflammation is exactly what we want, it causes a neovascularisation (new vessels are building and bringing Oxygen and high blood supply to the wounded area which heals by this quicker... !!! And this I can say as I use very high amounts of SprayGel and have the most experience with using many kits and not only two...
Adhesions can come back after every surgery, even after mine, I never stated that we have 100% adhesions free patients... Also pain can be related to other organs or issues thany adhesions... Medicine is never 100 % as we know, so some might develop adhesion and some others not... but with the combination fo both, gasless laparoscopy and SprayGel I still have the best results...
So Dawn, you are still welcome to perform a third look as done by Lisa Graven and than we could detect if adhesions came back. This would be also good to know, as no procedure is 100 %, we are not magicians, we are humans, and we might mistake in our theories about adhesions, as adhesions are the “chameleon” of the surgical treatment and there are plenty of doctors who don’t touch this patients (as you yourself know). I’m at least trying to help and I helped many of ARD patients ... If I can heal at least one or two it is worth to work on it and to work out how and what to do better in the future, so you could help to educate my self even much more in my undertakings to fight adhesions...

Daniel is a pro at this stuff...and then to use medical descriptions of equipment..give me a break! how will I ever know as who here can do a surgery...I am sick and afraid of adhesions...and now you say I am making trouble because I need answers!
I fell like I am starting all over again here, begging to see a Dr. for what..diagnostic tests to tell me I have nothing wrong with me, start taking pain meds again.and talking to you IN Germany doesn't help me get medications here in the USA!

Others putting me up to dragging out my operatives from Germany now that you have a message board but not before that..well, if you must know why I dug them up now it is because a patient of your just returned NOT WELL at all and having a fit because I sent her over to you! She is angry and seeking answers to HER operative reports from every DR. and surgeon she can! And she blames ME for all of this and for wasting her money too! Karen, say what ever you want about me trying to make a problem, it IS a problem to be sure, and yes, someone is behind it all, but NOT who you and Daniel think it is. You want to blame Bev for everything, she says so be it, it is okay. She never mentioned anything about Daniel to me or on the IAS, always answered my concerns in private as your saying to do, and yet never putting Daniel down, even stating I might have to go back to him!! Karen you did all the public name calling and blaming..never Bev! I mentioned her name one time on the IAS, which I regret and apologized to her for doing as she had no part in it all, I did that, but she wanted no retractions at all, just to be left out of the public display!

I have talked to Bev about this recent issue with this patient because this patient didn't want to talk to Bev, she allowed me to send her operatives to Bev and asked questions. I have no idea what has transpired since then as Bev will not discuss this persons case with me and this lady is very angry at me...I dug out MY reports to show this lady that I was sorry for not being upfront with her as to how I felt and that her decision to go to Germany was based on my lies, etc...I told her I would share everything with her, I feel terrible guilt Daniel and Karen, terrible guilt for not telling her how I really felt! THIS is why I had my reports and pictures out, to send to her!

I asked Bev to look at MY reports and explain them to me in medical terminology so I would know what to say to this lady..and Bev actually said the same things that you just told me, and she pointed out that there was "old un-oxygenated blood" in the first pictures you took at the start of the initial procedure and that there were lots of adhesions, and of course that blood left in the cavity very well could cause adhesions, but to keep on mind that I did not have a barrier used here in the states so one would expect adhesions to form! Then she explained that there appeared to be blood in the cavity prior to you applying the Spraygel, but maybe you picked that out before the application of the Spraygel. (She explained that Dr. Reich picks the blood out at the end of the surgery as well as aggressive irrigation.) Then I asked her if I might have adhesion again if blood was left in and that I saw what looked like a gauze pad in two of the pictures and that gauze can cause adhesions to.
Bev, yes, Bev told me to email my questions to you, I also asked her about a drain, she told me to ask you as how could she know if I didn't remember having one and had no site where it would be how could she know. If it is in the report, then she said I had one, but to ask you as she can't know where it came out of!!

I know I come on strong and angry, but I am causing trouble because I now need answers, and now I get out my reports, it is Bev's fault? And I should tell who this person is when she asks me not to tell you yet she is screaming accusation at ME for not being honest to her and now she is WORSE then when she went over to you! This is BEV'S fault and I am making trouble induced by others!! IF only Bev would give me some time and answers, she too thinks I didn't do the right thing, yes, Karen, I too got that email!! I feel guilt, and I did wrong when this lady contacted me before going to Daniel, I WAS the cause of her wasting her money and coming back very ill! This is how I feel....and I am making trouble Daniel?
I can't afford to come back, Daniel, I am desperate and I am scared, and you don't need to tell me I don't know what I am doing and have to be "put up to it" by anyone else! I choose to say what I did to this lady, no one but me, and I did wrong. No one put me up to saying how wonderful you were when I did feel well, and even when I didn't..not even Bev put me up to that! I did it...so Daniel, give ME credit for knowing what I am doing when I write to you!

I know you can show patients emails to everyone, you did that with Lisa, remember! And Daniel, I WAS well and thought I would stay well, but now I am NOT well, so what do you ant me to do, shut up and suffer? Write happy faces all over my emails?? And I AM guilty of lying to this lady...happy faces on that too!
Your report states you achieved hemostasis, what I am asking is if that means you remove the blood clots I saw in the pictures, it doesn't matter to me the instrument, I have no idea what that even is, all I want to know is if you cleaned out the clotted blood before the application of Spraygel, that's all I am asking. I am trying to figure out if I now have adhesions..and did Spraygel make me bleed as it states in your report? If it did, how can I use it again? Why did it make me bleed?
The pictures of the blood were before the Spraygel was put on Bev said...is that true? ( And she said to ask you, she was not attacking you or anything!)

I saw a gauze pad in two pictures, that's why I asked about them. Can't I ask that without being a troublemaker?

If there is bleeding after surgery, won't adhesions form?
And I asked WHERE on my body the drain was. This lady said her drain was in her side, I didn't know I had one and told her that I didn't have one, only to read on my reports that I did, now she thinks I am lying to her again!!

Now I am confused again, inflammation causes adhesions we all have heard...and now you say I had inflammation too? I do not understand anything about the bleeding or blood part, but I asked Bev to explain it, just so you know, and she said she had to forward it to Confluent as it was all news to her and it is best someone there answers these issues, not her!

Is that blood clotting gone now do you think or did I get adhesions from them again??

Daniel, you said that each second look was 100% clear of adhesions, mine too, what does that mean then? I fear having to live with adhesions again, and I did believe that you had 100% success, maybe you did not say it but I was led to think that!! Maybe from Lisa, I don't remember! I am so afraid of having adhesions...

I don't see how I will ever get back there to you, I am so frightened, and you can keep saying someone is behind my words, Daniel, it doesn't matter, the real issues are that I think I have adhesions again, and when I got out my reports to send south, I asked Bev to read them and explain them to me. She did NOT put your surgery down, nothing like that at all, she explained what she knew, told me to email you and said I might have to go back to you too, as this other lady is supposed to do! Bev told me nothing different then you just did! But Daniel, I can't get back to there, and I do not trust anyone here! It doesn't matter what Karen says, I told this lady a lie, and that I didn't have a drain, then it is on my report...Bev told me to ask you about it, not her! I do not want Bev to dislike me, she helped me get to you...but I think she doesn't like me anymore then the others! Think what you want, Karen too, but it doesn't change my worry's and my needs!

I didn't do this behind your back and even if I asked the question in the other area to ask you stuff, everyone will see it anyway, so I wrote it here! I do NOT want to ever be accused of not being upfront again, and Karen even if you don't like that I ask Daniel questions publicly, to bad as this is how I am going to always do things, upfront and open and honest! I lied once and caused a serious problem for someone, maybe others too, but for sure one person, I will never do it aging, even if you don't like it! I am not you Karen!

Daniel, you make it sound so simple to just return as Lisa did, but I am a single parent with an ill child and no money...and how do I know it would even work a next time? Your right, nothing is 100%, but what about IF blood left in after surgery does create adhesions?? What about a drain tube creating adhesions and bleeding after surgery..creates adhesions...do I get a laporoscopic procedure done here to see if there are adhesions and not allow for any to be lysed? Is that possible to do?
Aside of all the garbage and accusations, what do I do?

You accuse me of making trouble because I ask questions, do you say that to me so I do NOT ask you questions? Why is that making trouble, Daniel? Is this why other patients don't approach you with their issues or IS everyone well except for me and this lady who just returned, and Lisa, and Sally?

I need answers for me, for me, Daniel...and if your message board can't handle truth but only smiley faces and praise..then it is not any better then any other message board that wants to be perfectly sterile and "happy" al the time, which isn't what ARD is all about all the time! To bad..you did my surgery, I have my op reports out and I need answers..and not in such a medical jabber that I cannot understand a word of, tell me in layman's terms please. Cont: AETIOPATHOGENESIS OF ADHESIONS
The omentum plays a protective role in adhesion formation. Adhesive obstruction after colectomy is well known. This is because the operation involves, omentectomy and this will remove the organ that forms safe adhesions. As a result it would leave adhesiogenic areas exposed to the small bowel and will result in higher incidence of small bowel adhesions.
Another significant factor is a frequent practice to divide any adhesions that are total encountered. The division of adhesions which involves the small bowel are at a high risk of later obstruction.
PREVENTION
As yet there are no definite methods of completely preventing adhesions. The two commonly used solutions that have anti-adhesive effects in animals povidone iodine and 30% dextran 70.[13] Povidone iodine is used by surgeons more for its antimicrobial action rather than that of its anti adhesive effect.[11] Dextran is a popularly used solution in gynaecologic practice to prevent adhesions in infertility surgery.



The most important way of preventing adhesions is by meticulous technique.
The following are a few operative steps which could be undertaken to reduce the incidence of post operative adhesions.
Careful handling of the bowel to reduce serosal trauma.
Avoid rough unnecessary dissection.
Avoid contact of foreign material from the peritoneum e.g. use of absorbable material as far as possible, avoid excess use of guaze swabs, or wearing starch free gloves.
Adequate excision of ischaemic or infected debris within the peritoneum.
Preserve the omentum as far as possible. Placement of omentum around the site of surgery and run the omentum under the wound to encourage low risk adhesions to form.
Avoid dividing adhesions which do not involve the small intestines.

Dawn wanted ME to speak to the lady, and I did, but only to tell her to communicate with you. This lady also said that I misrepresented Frankfurt by telling her that I would go there myself if I couldn't get Dr. Reich. This I did say to her, but that was before I found out that not everyone returning home and saying they were 100% well were actually NOT doing so well after all. I was a victim of this misinformation the same as she was! I have NOT spoken to the lady since! ( And I will not either!)
This is what Dawn explained to me prior to asking me to look at her operatives and why she asked me to do that!
This same lady called Dawn a lire and a fraud, Dawn told her she would let her see anything she wanted to see regarding Dawns operatives from Frankfurt, as Dawn felt guilty I guess...Dawn told this lady something about her ( Dawn) NOT having a drain tube post surgically, and then when Dawn found her operatives, it stated she did in fact have a drain, so the lady once again called her a lier and said Dawn scammed her for "pushing" Frankfurt!
Dawn feels terrible, she asked me to look at the operatives, and I did, she asked where a drain would have been if she had one, which she says she doesn't remember, that is when I told her to discuss her issues with you as I do NOT want to remain involved with anything to do with Frankfurt, and I told that to Dawn well over a week ago! I do commend Dawn for trying to make amends with this lady by trying to be honest with her now....
This same lady also says that Lisa Graven scammed her after I referred her to talk to Lisa about Frankfurt, so it was MY fault again! I want no part of any of this, Daniel!
And to see my name used in this manner here when I have neither posted anything negative about you or your procedure on the IAS or anywhere else...what some of your patients did was wrong Daniel, whether you like it or not, they were not sharing current information about their current health, be it adhesions or not, and people felt that they were not hearing the truth prior to going over to see you! I emailed my issues to YOU and to the women who reported that they were well, when in fact they reported elsewhere that they were NOT well!
False reports posted public for all to see and to use in making a decision as to where to seek a surgery, is not something that I want to see happen to victims of ARD, and I don't think you did either! It is always best to report how a person is feeling and living after ANY adhesiolysis so that others do not have false expectations when they elect to go to a certain surgeon!
NOT one time did I ever mention anything about your surgery, Daniel and never did I ever go public with this issue, the other ladies did that! I never saw your procedure or skill or compassion as being anything but that it is, decent and offering a good chance of improvements from ARD symptoms! What I take issue to, was the women not sharing the truth! A simple as that! You can look back many months in the IAS archives and you will have seen me post maybe two times in that year..and it was never to put down or slander you or your procedure, Daniel!
Daniel, If anyone wanted to see Frankfurt go, who do you think that would be??? Perhaps me a little bit, I was the one who introduced Frankfurt..of course I want to see it be productive, but only with honesty and respect, and some of those you choose to speak on your behalf, well, they remain less then of moral charachter! I don't think you want to secure patients by former patients not being honest with them, Daniel, and that is what happened, and that is what is behind the issues with Dawn, I am sure! Daniel, I have not dealt with anyone or anything to do with Frankfurt since my email to you and to ONE time look at Dawn Rise's operatives, and tell her to go to you with her issues! I want out of ALL ARD issues...not because of you, David Wiseman or anyone else, but this lady is going to cause some trouble, Dawn should worry, as should the rest of those women she talked to or who posted false information, if this lady and her husband decide that they were frauded by them ...they are all in deep trouble! I cannot be to optimistic since the ladies didn't tell the truth, I too feel like a victim of their over zealous words....but this is NOT your fault Daniel, as I have no doubt that you did not know they were saying such things!
I cannot stop anyone from using my name or placing suspician on me for things..but that doesn't cause me to do anything different as I am not doing any of it anyway! Maybe you would be best served to look at issues as if that patient or person or whomever you think is not acting on their own, as Daniel, in the case of Dawn Rose, it is not me, so deal with her and hold her accountable for whatever it is she is doing....and use me if you want to, but you will never be able to deal with the reality of the issues as she states them or does them, as she is doing them, not me, and it seems you have some issues here...I wouldn't touch this with a ten foot pole! You know, I am NOT even curious as to what the hell this is all about, my name in it or not, I don't want to even know about it!!
